Last week we discovered that Tim and Sarah's boys are both absolutely obsessed with sticks, which turns out to be a universal child experience. Tim has two in the car, ten in the backyard and potentially four in the kids' room. The stick selection process is very scientific: test durability by hitting it on the ground, assess length and girth, sharpen the end if possible. Ricki came in this Monday with a stunning girthy city stick she found stumbling home from dinner on Macquarie Street and presented it as a gift. There was only one perfect stick. Choices had to be made.
