A heartbreaking and heavy moment led the show as the crew reacted to the devastating mass shooting in Shreveport, Louisiana, where authorities say a father, Shamar Elkins, killed eight children—seven of them his own—in what has been described as the nation’s deadliest mass shooting in more than two years. The conversation centered on grief, domestic violence, and the urgent need for mental‑health intervention, with faith leaders and mental‑health professionals urging families to take warning signs seriously and reminding listeners that help is available before tragedy strikes.

In celebrity news, Jada Pinkett Smith made headlines after reports resurfaced about her longtime secret crush on Ted Danson, whom she worked with on her 2008 film The Human Contract, reinforcing her openly discussed attraction to what she calls “soft‑spoken alpha males”. Mary J. Blige also opened up about a painful chapter from her career, revealing she still regrets her controversial Burger King commercial, saying the fallout deeply affected her personally and professionally and remains “not a laughing matter” years later. Plus, Tory Lanez is demanding $100 million in a lawsuit against the California Department of Corrections, claiming prison officials failed to protect him after he was stabbed 16 times by another inmate, leaving him with serious injuries including a collapsed lung.
