Richard King spoke with Tabitha Acret, mother of Mackenzie Anderson who was brutally murder by her ex -partner in her Mayfield home back in 2022. Last week, the Court of Criminal Appeal decided her daughter’s killer Tyrone Thompson would not spend any additional time behind bars. Thompson was jailed in May for a maximum of 22 years and six months, with a non-parole period of 15 years and six months. Ms Acret has refused to give up the fight & has since launched a petition calling for law reform in domestic violence murder cases. If you, or anyone you know needs help, call 1800 RESPECT 1800 737 732. You can find the petition link on our Facebook page – 2HD Newcastle.
