The bill had passed in the House of Representatives on Saturday before being passed in the Senate with a vote of 79 to 18 Tuesday evening. The aid package also includes a measure that would force Chinese company ByteDance to sell its popular social media platform TikTok, within 6 months, to an American-based company—citing a current threat to national security. Refusal to sell TikTok would result in the app being banned in the United States.

[Alvin Bragg] has made a historic mistake. Their vague allegation about “a criminal scheme to corrupt the 2016 presidential election” has me more concerned than ever about their unprecedented use of state law and their persistent avoidance of specifying an election crime or a valid theory of fraud.” You can read the full editorial here: https://www.nytimes.com/2024/04/23/opinion/bragg-trump-trial.html

5:35pm- Doug Sosnik, a former senior adviser to President Bill Clinton from 1994 to 2000, writes that according to his analysis “Joe Biden still has a narrower and more challenging path to winning the election than Donald Trump.” You can read the full New York Times article here: https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2024/04/16/opinion/electoral-map-outlook.html
