Dr Jonas Gwangwa is a veteran artist who travelled to almost all the countries in the world for ten years with Amandla Cultural Group during the dark days of apartheid. When he returned to South Africa after democracy he was honoured by all the Presidents of South Africa with the “National Orders Awards”.
In the program repertoire included top artists from the African Continent like Wes Madiko from Cameroon, PSquare & Fela Kuti from Nigeria, Kassav Band from Caribbean Island, Romeo M from DRC, Organized Family from Zambia, Sipho Gumede & Thokozani Langa from South Africa.

Rhythms of Africa is a Music Program on Channel Africa, Voice of the African Renaissance, focusing on various music idioms throughout the African Continent. It features internationally acclaimed artists like Salif Keita; Angelique Kidjo; Gloria Bosman; Caiphus Semenya; Ladysmith Black Mambazo and many more. Budding artists are also given a platform. 

The idea behind the program is to develop, preserve and promote the rich multicultural talent of the African Continent through airplay and interviews of various artists and styles.
