IMBA is a film and music movement formerly formed by a Television Producer/Director/Music Composer and Producer Wandile Funani kaMnqanqeni in 2013. Wandile hails from Makwababa village in Cofimvaba in Eastern Cape Province, South Africa. The group currently has two lead vocalists; Nkeke Funani with her roots from a village called Medigen in Limpopo but grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa.
IMBA’s music is not confined within a certain genre as its co-founder Wandile is a versatile artist who besides creating television content, directing and producing had also started singing from childhood and sang Choral & Opera music when he got to Johannesburg. IMBA’s primary objective is to use its influence to develop music & TV broadcasting skills throughout the country with more focus on rural communities.
Repertoire included songs about Africa Day/Month from various artists in the African Continent.
