Jeff Coury had a vision of helping foster youth living in group homes – he wanted them to become “the heroes of their own lives.” He got together with a couple of friends, and in 2023 the Fostering Heroes Foundation was born.
The focus is to deliver mentorship, life skills and experiences to provide kids aging out of the foster system with the skills, beliefs, encouragement – and love – necessary to succeed. More than that, the goal is to reach out not just sometimes, but reach out each and every day.
Keynote of the program is the Future Heroes Summer Camp, that provides a blend of personal growth, skill development, and outdoor adventure in Northern Arizona.
This year, Jeff passed the baton of leadership to his daughter, Galadriel Coury, who left her job as a math teacher to take the organization to the next level. Today, she is leading the organization to educate, empower, and encourage foster youth as they transition into adulthood.
