In this Religion Today episode, broadcast on Fathers' Day, host Martin Tanner describes how men and fathers have been marginalized and in society.  TV commercials and shows, such as the Simpsons, often depict women, mothers and girls as bright, wise, honest and thoughtful, while depicting men, fathers and boys and dumb, lazy, dishonest and angry. The consequences for society of belittling men have been devastating.  Elevating women does not require devaluing men.  Thoughtful comments about the current role of men and fathers and how things could be improved, which would help children and society as a whole.
