Do Pets and other animals go to heaven?  Since the Bible has no explicit answer, each denomination has its own answer.  Animals are found in the Garden of Eden according to Genesis.  They will be found in the millennium, according to Isaiah 11.  Catholicism has no answer in its Catechism, some Catholic scholars say animals will not be in heaven, some cautiously say yes.  Buddhism has no answer.  Latter-day Saints say yes.  Joseph Smith said in several contexts, pets and other animals will be found in heaven.  In a 1927 Church publication Joseph Smith is cited as saying he expected to have his favorite horse in heaven.  Near-death experiences sometimes have pets in them, to the great delight of their owners.
