2019-11-03 Religion Today - Understanding the Book of Revelation

View descriptionShare

The first of a series of shows on the Book of Revelation.  Revelation is best understood as being written between 64 AD and 73 AD, referencing in its opening chapters, events of that time, then giving hope and comfort to Early Christians.  But then, in its closing chapters, referencing events which have not yet happened, like the re-building of the Temple in Jerusalem and the Second Coming of Christ.  The author knew many details of the Hebrew Bible, Greek Bible (Septuagint), the Temple, its purpose and interior, as well as the Early Christian Churches, in Asia Minor, present day Turkey.  This description fits John the Apostle.
