Since then, he has covered major stories including the Samoan tsunami, Christchurch earthquakes, political scandals, mayoral controversies, and two Rugby World Cups.

Jared has reported on some of New Zealand’s most high-profile and controversial cases, including the Kahui twins, Scott Guy, and Chris Cairns’ perjury trial in London. More recently, he has focused on organised crime and the meth trade, highlighting its social and health impacts in his books Gangland and Gangster’s Paradise.
