Former special counsel Jack Smith sat before Senate Judiciary today as Chairman Chuck Grassley pressed him on Arctic Frost, lawmaker records, journalist communications, and a classified-documents case Grassley’s office says started as a “non-criminal” referral. Smith said he will not be “silenced” and stood by both Trump prosecutions.
Grassley disclosed that Smith’s team obtained roughly 4,800 donor checks from Americans in all 50 states—plus D.C. and Puerto Rico—including small-dollar Trump donations. Those records carried names, addresses, account numbers, routing numbers, and signatures. Grassley called it targeting of the Republican apparatus, not a normal prosecution.
