An 8-foot bronze statue of Charlie Kirk—unveiled Sept. 10 at Turning Point USA headquarters to mark one year since his assassination at Utah Valley University—was doused in red paint. Paint hit the face, the neck where he was shot, and a nearby sign that named Jesus. Phoenix police are investigating. No arrests yet. TPUSA says it will restore the memorial.
Texas Railroad Commission nominee Bo French posted a photo of South Asian UT students celebrating the Longhorns’ win over Ohio State and called the scene a “problem.” Sen. John Cornyn, Gov. Greg Abbott, and other Republicans condemned it. French doubled down. Prediction markets dropped. The GOP fight is now public weeks before November.
