The Chamber of Secrets has been opened! Every Thursday, we're revisiting all eight Harry Potter films leading up to the release of the new HBO series. This week, we're diving into Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, directed by Chris Columbus. The second installment takes us deeper into the Wizarding World, introducing terrifying new creatures, mysterious attacks at Hogwarts, and the dark history of Salazar Slytherin.

From the flying Ford Anglia and the Whomping Willow to Aragog's terrifying introduction and the epic Basilisk showdown, we're breaking down everything that makes Chamber of Secrets one of the franchise's most ambitious fantasy adventures. We'll explore the extraordinary practical effects, massive sets, groundbreaking animatronics, John Williams' magical score, and unforgettable performances from Kenneth Branagh, Jason Isaacs, and Richard Harris in his final appearance as Dumbledore.

More than two decades later, does Chamber of Secrets deserve more recognition? We're discussing its greatest moments, biggest plot holes, fascinating filmmaking secrets, book-to-film adaptation flaws, and the mystery surrounding Tom Riddle's diary. From the origins of Voldemort to the film's powerful themes of prejudice, identity, and the choices that define us, we're revisiting everything that makes this darker sequel such an essential chapter in the Harry Potter saga.

We're torn, James considers Clayface to be his biggest surprise hit of 2026, while Anthony is a little more lukewarm on the film. Either way, DC Studios takes its boldest and most gruesome swing yet with Clayface, a twisted body horror thriller starring Tom Rhys Harries as Matt Hagen, a disfigured actor whose desperate attempt to reclaim his appearance transforms him into a shapeshifting monster. But can this horrifying reinvention prove that the DC Universe can thrive beyond traditional superhero movies?

We chat about the movie's inventive filmmaking, stomach churning practical effects, and brutal revenge story to its terrific lead performance. We also explore the film's creative transformations, unforgettable horror sequences, and struggles to balance its comic book origins with its body horror ambitions.

We dive into the fascinating filmmaking secrets behind Clayface, including its elaborate prosthetics, practical effects, and inspirations from classics like The Fly. Plus, we discuss Gotham City's portrayal, the film's themes of identity and obsession, and whether this gruesome experiment represents an exciting new direction for DC Studios or a missed opportunity.
