Gary Jubelin interview with Radio Today Tonight's Jen Seyderhelm

If you don’t know Gary Jubelin, I’d like you to.

34 years a cop, and 25 working in homicide before a breach of the Surveillance Devices Act during the William Tyrrell case, for which he had consulted with his peers, forced him to leave the job he loved.

He knew there was life after the force but didn’t expect it to end this way when he had been the embodiment of good policing for so many years. But then a friend, Ken Marslew, father of Michael who was stabbed during a hold up at a pizza hut in 1994, and who went on to found Enough is Enough, the Anti-Violence Movement, in the years after Michael’s death, said,

"Why don’t you start a podcast and use your voice?"

So he did, and I Catch Killers with Gary Jubelin this month alone had three quarter of a million downloads according to the Australian Podcast Ranker, and more than 200,000 monthly listeners.

Gary’s new podcast is called Breaking Badness. This six episode series takes Gary inside NSW’s maximum security Macquarie Correctional Centre. Imagine that, an ex cop in maximum security with some people he may have had a hand in putting there. Gary’s experience was not what he anticipated and it has further advanced his aims of prison reform, prevention and redemption.
