When asked what inspired him to write the song, Teloupe mentioned that, similar to his previous work for the drama "Meet Yourself," this song was tailor-made for the synopsis of "Smile Code," highlighting the happiness of meeting someone special. He added that he wants listeners to feel good while listening to the song, to sense that love is still in the air, and perhaps to relive past experiences of tender moments with their significant others.
