It’s been over a week since news of the ‘VPR’ reboot was announced and there’s A LOT to talk about! Juliette is back and giving her thoughts on Ariana's Thanksgiving lip-sync performance, Kristen Doute's secret gender reveal party and Tom Sandoval's interesting tribute to his days on Bravo.
Hello, it is Juliet and I am hosting this week's Going Rogue and discussing headlines, rumors, the pr of it all everything to do with VPR. It's interesting because you think, oh, it's over, it's down instead, but there's more stuff going on now than ever between the existing ogs and the incoming cast and the fans and the bravosphere. So we're going to get into it on this episode and see what you'all think and kind of give some perspective and some updates. So let's start with some of the headlines, which obviously everything comes down to the shakeup of the VPR cast not returning. The ogs are out and the full new cast coming in. There's been so many rumors for a while, from everything from was it salaries arguments. I think really it does come down to all of the above, and the network had to make a choice. Was their places to go? Was it old? Was it stale? Where do you go from here? The twelve seasons means a lot more money in salaries, So I truly believe that it's a little bit of all of the above, and how do they maximize the IP the intellectual property they already have with band A punt rules and not start completely from scratch, but yet give everybody something new. And let's remember that the concept is all about the youth, and the concept is all about what kind of happens in the twenties and what happens behind the scenes in a restaurant. The OG version has gone away from that. It got so deep into the personal lives that they've you know, nobody worked at the restaurant anymore. The restaurants were sort of second. Now they're going to make the restaurants the hub again and what happens in the in the workings of the restaur and the relationships that come from it. So I think it's going to lead for some very interesting changes. I think one of the things that is going to be tremendously different is the concern is, oh, the love that we have for the ogs, and now we've got all a bunch of new people we don't know. But let's not forget that at one point all our ogs were newbies and sister wives. Nobody who knew where those people were. And all these are the shows, the Bravo and the production companies and the network. It is now their job to lay the path for these new people. And I think that one of the things that I find personally fascinating is the interaction with the Bravo bloggers. You the fans, how much part of what your thoughts and emotions and feelings about the show actually played into it, as well as all those individuals showing what was happening off camp and outside of that. So I feel that your actual input as fans did actually impact a lot of this too. A lot of fans were talking about being over it, even though they love the cast and love the show. Where is there to go? They knew the relationships weren't repairable, they knew that there was some hard boundaries that weren't going to be crossed. So where do you go from there? So I think that they made the right decision. And what is going to happen next and now what we're going to have to see is how you the fans, lay into this new version. Are you going to embrace them? Are you going to get involved? But I will say this, at the end of the day, a lot of you have grown in age with the show. The sweet spot for these networks is in the twenties, and the sweet spot of the mistakes that people make are in the twenties. So I think what the network will be hoping is that some of the OG fans will transition with the new show and give it a try, because there's still that escapism and remembering when you were in your twenties and the mistakes you made and what you would do differently. But they're also looking to capture new viewers. They're looking to capture the young viewers, combine them with those that still stay loyal to the brand, and see if they can strike gold again, you know, lightning in a bottle for the second time. So we're going to have to wait and see a little bit of how you all take it and how they market it. Their job now, which they do very very well, is making these people accessible to you, talking about the drama and their relationships, getting the fans excited about remembering what it was like when you very first tuned in and the conflict that happened behind the scenes, and having to you know, don't fish in the company pond, right, You don't date the people that you work with, well not in this case, right. So I think they're really going to want to look and see they're going to cast these people or not cast them they're going to present them to us as who's the sweet couple, who's the vixen, who's the villain, who's the you know, the new La La, the new Gena, the new Tom's. I mean, at the end of the day, even though those people are real people and people you love, they were still a type cast. And that's what's going to happen with this new show. Who do they have? What assets do they offer that the that the public is going to watch and get behind, and they're going to present that in a nice little bow, and then we're going to see if they have your buy in. I also think there's a possibility, my guess is that they will not have the ogs actually come in and be a part of it, or use them as a kicking off point, because if they do, then there were still We're still stuck on what was, instead of embracing what they are wanting to present to us now, these new people. Now. Do I think that they some dinner might come and they have all the og not all the ogs, but those willing to sit and eat together show up in the restaurant. Maybe, but I do not think that they're going to use the old ogs to usher in the new because they didn't need to do that with any of these new shows, right. So my guess is they're going to build this the way that Bravo knows how, into a new cast, banking a little bit on the name itself, which has been a bone of contention for people. Why didn't they rename it? Why are they using the same name if they aren't going to have the ogs because it's back to that same ip. They have fander Punt rules and they don't need to go start a new show. They're telling you without telling you what to expect what was there the first time around, but with new people. So I don't know. I think they're actually handling it well. All good things must come to an end, and the ogs are getting spread around. We're going to get into that on new shows and appearances and things like that, and I think the Bravo will focus more just on the newcast and separating it so that they don't get under the thumb of what was That's my personal opinion, but we'll see, we will see. Okay. The next headline was Andy Cohen talking about it, and I think Andy disagreed with what I said. At the end of the day, he said that he was really impressed that producers were able to keep the show going as long as they did, and that now because of the growth of those people, none of them workers are anymore and they've all moved on to different parts of their life and really being the celebs of a reality show rather than servers at a restaurant. This is taking it back to the beginning, and he likened it to the shakeup of the Real Housewives of New York. You know, even if you look at something like Gray's Anatomy, which I think, don't quote me if I'm wrong, I think it's twenty years they've been celebrating, and there are very few shows that make it that long. There are lesser reality shows that make it as long as vander Pump Rules did. But I think at the end of the day, you leave on an uptick and then you invest in the new show. And I think that is where they are with it right now, and I think Andy is on board with that, thinking it's the right thing to What is interesting is fans are swirling around Lisa vander Pump. Is she going to have lesser a role as an EP? Is she going to have more of a role let's explain what EP executive producer really means. It can mean quite a few things. It can mean that you own the show, you own a part of the show. It means you just get a credit, you don't do anything, you don't even show up. Or they could choose to keep her involved as the restaurant owner. It depends on what they want. But being an executive producer means many things. You could have an investment, you could just be getting paid off of it. You are there in name only. She's not a producer, so she's not in the day to day creating the storyline on this particular show, But as an EP, it means all of those things. So we're gonna have to wait and see how much she has to do with it or not. I do think again, the freshest start for this fresh new show is to keep it focused on the young people and what's happening in their lives. I'm sure there's going to be plenty of drama and fighting and cheating and dating and all of those things that will make for great news. And like any reality show or even a drama, first thing they have to do is build a connection with the audience and get your buy into who these people are and then let the you know, let the games begin and see who stays on board. I think most people are surprised that vander part Rules lasted as long as it did, and especially the last season after the scandal. People didn't know what to expect and it was hard. And that's why again, I think it was the right time to call it off, and people were making new moves and new adventures, and this it is the right time. And now let this young cast usher in new storylines and new excitement. I think that also it's going to depend on the personalities. Let's not forget above all, Bravo is a professional network, and NBC and Peacock and you know, these showrunners they know what they're doing, so they know how to make this new body of people interesting and how do they need to interact and help coach them along because they did it for that show and many others. So I don't think we're going to have to worry that there won't be enough drama or excitement. I think they're going to make it happen, or they wouldn't be investing still in the show. Okay, let's move to the next headline. Lala Kent says she's proud to have been a part of Vanner Punt rules. Okay, so let's go into Lala's statement. You know, yes, I'm sure she is very grateful for the time, as all of them would be. But also, you know, I'm sure they are ready for new things. I mean, you know, it's a little bit of arrested development that you have to stay in a place and live under the expectations that people have of you. People expected her to be a shit stir. People expected her to be shocking, and she embraced that and she did a great job of it. She's now a mom to a second child, and hence why I think the move over to the valley is more appropriate. Like, you know, imagine, if you're forty years old and you're still having to do and react the way you would be expected to a twenty, it's got to be a little affecting and uncomfortable. So I think that for most of these people, they are I say most, maybe not standbal but most people are willing to grow beyond right, So I think it's a good thing for them to move to that next stage. What's going to be next for her? We're going to have to see. I think, as mature as they're all being about it, it has to suck to not have your paycheck coming in. We all plan based on that paycheck. We're getting some save, some spend, but no matter what, we count on that. And those people are now less. They're now dipping into their savings until they have their new paychecks coming in. So I think any and every single one of them wants to continue on TV as long as they can. It's the easiest money you'll find, even as complicated as it is, and it's a lot of money that it can be. And then it also, remember, gives them all of the offshoots, so who knows, let's see how many books we get or new merchandise or you know, their personal tell alls, you know any of that, or guest roles you know Hallmark movies, or you know, Tom's been the one that's most Sandoval has been the one that's done most of the things like the Villains and things like that. Any other one of them could do a Dancing with the Stars or the Villains or a game show or any of those things that still pay. So I do not think any of them, not a one of them will retire from the spotlight. If given the opportunities, they're gonna have to fight a little harder because Ariana had that extra leg up and took it, and she's at the stratosphere right now and the rest of them don't have that level. But they are still famous, and they are still attractive, and they are newsworthy, So they're going to turn that into as much as they can. Nobody's going away, nobody's stepping out in my opinion. Anyways. One thing about this that does fascinate me that we're going to have to see is what's going to happen to the blog world for them? Right A whole bunch of them have blogs. Are they still going to want to do it? Are people still going to tune in because they're not on the show? Is somebody going to end up capturing that space where they take on all the new cast and you know, interview all the new cast and make it the place that the new cast comes and talks. But the new cast is going to get their own blogs. There are a lot of bloggers out there that make a living just talking about the show, So any one of them could do that. They could use their fame to pull in other reality stars. I think that space itself is going to be really interesting to watch. Is Laala still going to do hers? Is Sheen is still going to do hers? My guess is yes, until it stops making the money. So but I find that really interesting. Not sure if you do, you know, looking at the Valley too, I think to a certain extent, it's more like I write a passage of growing up, because you leave from that twenties space and you move into the family space, and it's a little bit trickier to navigate because, you know, speaking as a mother of three, every new mom thinks that it's the first time they've done it, and they're so wrapped up in that baby in their life and where they're at in their life, and other mommies and dads, you know, relate to that. But the rest of the people that have, you know, their kids have all graduated college. They're like, yeah, yeah, been there, done that. So when you're in it in that moment, you think it's only you, it can only be happening to you. And then as your kids grow up and you start seeing, oh, you know, everybody's going through the same thing, and yes, it's special to you. But everybody's done it, and everybody's survived it, and everybody got there, So it's a little bit trickier of a space to navigate. How do you showcase family life what it's like being a mom, because your audience becomes a little bit smaller, it's going to be very specific, it's not quite as broad. So I do think that's going to be something interesting for the valley. How are they going to capture you know that? And then if Tom Schwartz is going on there and he's the single guy and Jax is now single, so I think they're going to balance the crazy single life versus touching in with the family life and the moms. These women are going to be strong single moms or moms leading the pact in their career and balancing family life. But it might be a bit of a smaller audience we're going to have to see. I hopefully they'll be less cheating. I'm sure the drama will come from the single guys bringing people in to the mix, right or the single people bringing people into the mix. And again for all of them, you know they're trying to find their way right now, even though they say they weren't surprised, and they're not mad. It's still shocking to lose your income like that and figure out where you're getting it next, even with savings like nobody wants to touch their safe means. Okay, the next headline is Laala explained if she'll be watching the new version, and she got went on Sheena's blog and the two of them sort of talked about will they or won't they? And she said, I feel like we've graduated. Nothing lasts forever. I'm excited for the new group of people and I'm just excited about life. And I think she means that, but again I think she's also like, holy bananas, what do I do now? Right? Where do I go? What is next for us? And that has to be a little bit frustrating for all of them. And I think after twelve years on television, being who they were and are, it's going to be hard to step away from that. It's tough. It's tough to walk away from Hollywood. It's tough to leave that persona behind. So it's going to depend on what they have lined up next or what it takes for them to get new projects. Do they have to revamp and rebrand or do people continue to work with them based on who they were and the way they acted on the show. So I think that's going to be a fun journey to watch, and it's going to be a little scary for them and a little exciting at the same time. A lot exciting, I guess. And I feel that one thing the fans have been talking about is that they didn't love the fact that they kept Band Apartment Rules as the name that it is. I think they feel that that was disrespectful to the OG cast, if you will. But again, as that IP is owned by Bravo and it is familiar and it defines what you can expect, it makes sense for it to stay the same. So I'll be interested to see that, all right, Sheena, She and Lala still talking about it and saying that they do not plan on me amends with the cast. And I think one of the big things is about how at the end, Laala said the things she said about Arianna, and she says she doesn't regret saying those negative things. She regrets not giving Arianna the heads up for it, right, and that Arianna found out sort of blindsided. And I think that's been the big strain on their relationship, and again, you know, I think that Arianna has moved beyond it. I think her best friend, Brad went on a blog too and said that, you know, he's her best friend I believe in her inner circle and said that, you know, she shouldn't go back to do anything with vander pummer Les. She's passed it, She's beyond it. It's a step back, which is one way of looking at it, and it's not an incorrect way. But on the other hand, you know, when you want to bring in the paycheck, you do whatever it takes to do that. And if they call and they want her and need her, it depends what she what else she has going on at the time, if she's going to step back in or not. These people's relationships were definitely strained because of all of the stuff on the show, and I think, you know, to a point that I've made in numerous times before, we all grow past the friendships and the relationships that are present, and I think that for growth, you do kind of have to walk away from a lot of these and I think with the time away from the show, they're going to find out maybe one or two of them are actual friends. They stay in contact with, and others they won't speak to ever again. One thing that will be interesting. I'm just sorry, this just popped into my head too. Things like Bravocan, Right, we have celebrities that are like from Baywatch, the original Baywatch, that still go out and sign photos, right and go to the Bravocans and the festivals and the fan events. These guys will get paychecks every time they do that, so darn straight they're going the next one, you know, and five years after that they're going to go as long as they can get a paycheck. So that is definitely a place that they are going to go back to see the fans that love them and still still draw income and inspiration and utilize who they are. So I don't think, and I don't even think Ariana would walk away from that. Maybe maybe this first year, but then I think at some point she'll embrace that and come back to be with all the fans that put her where she is. She wouldn't be there without the fans, and she knows that. So I just had that kind of fleeting thought about that one thing about all of this. Then all of this cast sort of drew the lines in the sand and I do again think that has something to do with why they couldn't move beyond. They're older now, they're not twenty, and they're not trying to be friends with everybody, and they know who they are. They have a good sense of who they are and they don't want to compromise that. So they're not going to just bend over to half friends to have friends. If it made sense to be on the show, they could make those relationships work as much as they had to, but they weren't going to forge a friendship and really work at the friendship when they don't need to. So I think that a lot of that had to do with why it didn't go from there. And look, can everybody blame scandal, I don't know. I think what is more important than the cheating scandal itself, because there were many cheating scandals throughout the tenure of the show. It's the magnitude and the volume of which they rode that scandal. Because if we go back to Sheena scandal, which is the reason for this show, she was the spin off. It made some headlines, more so in reality than everywhere else, but then it died and nobody cared. This one just is the gift that keeps on giving, right, and it kept it was making international news, and they were leaning into it and leaning into it, and it got so big. It got bigger than the show, and it got bigger than the cast. And so I don't think it was the cheating scandal itself, but it was literally the publicity and marketing around it and the divide that they used to catapult Ariana where she is. And I'm not you know, I'm not saying anything about Tom and Rachel, but literally that divide and forcing people to choose sides. It's very similar along the lines as in the country and politics whoever you're on for which this is irrelevant. The divide, the fear, the leaning into or magnifying the things that divide us makes you stronger towards the side. So in this situation, the stronger you pushed the divide, and the stronger the alliance came with the side. I think those strategies are really what hurt the show rather than the just the scandal itself. I hope that makes sense, but that is definitely I believe that wholeheartedly. The scandal like any others. If for Rachel it wasn't a big deal, and she didn't need the mental health facility and the help that she needed, and she came back and was like, I don't care, let's just move this to the next level. And Tom it would have just sort of folded itself back in and they would have been another season because it hurt people and they didn't lean back into it and didn't want to come back. I feel that again, the tactics around it is what ended that show and ended the relationships, rather than the scandal itself. Cheating happens all the time. Every single one of those people cheated numerous times, and everybody just rolled right on with it. And Britain Jax, there's been cheating and divorce and mental health facilities, et cetera, and yet they're all still filming together. So I think again it had to do with the hoopla around it, the pr and marketing, rather than the actual thing itself. The Macy's Day Parid and Arianna. This one was really interesting because the fans were all there for her, but people were very upset that she was lip syncing. So I'm going to give you a little insight on the background of that, is that everybody lip syncs at the parade. Now they can if they are really great singers and confident, they can sing over their track. So you hear their track and their voice, but you have to remember it's cold, they're on a moving float. Some of them are dancing and moving around, so they all actually have the track and they can choose to sing with it or lip sync to it. So I wouldn't bust her chops very much about that now, you know, maybe she let's talk about the track the same as Sheena's music too, Like you know, these are highly produced songs, so would she have sounded as great live? I don't know why risk it right on a parade in front of one hundreds of thousands of people. So I just think people need to just sort of give that a little bit of give her a little grace there and know that they all do it. The choice of song was funny, right obviously, and you know she's got her you know reality show where she's hosting is still happening, and that's a long term thing for her. So and she's going to be an NBC Peacocks sweetheart for a while because of those things. So I think that we are by no means done hearing from and or seeing Ariana. Would I be surprised if she did an album? Probably be a little surprised. I don't think that's her vain, but I wouldn't be so surprised that, you know, it would shock me if it happened, But I don't think that's her her direction. This is also along in the Ariana space, but her boyfriend Daniel has entered into the restaurant and bar space, shocking or not. My guest here is that the group reached out to him, and it's a smart move that they do because, as we talked about before, the restaurant business is very difficult and it's very competitive, and any edge that you can use helps, and Ariana's flag is still flying strong and Arianna and Daniel there's the potential. You know, if Daniel's restaurant, arian is going to support it. So are you going to get to see them in New York? Probably hopefully they're going to use that. With Ariana's career on the trajectory, it is, why wouldn't they get an income from it and leverage that out and you know, suddenly they'll be behind the bar or serving or you know, somewhere hosting events at the at the venue. So I think that it's an interesting move. I think it's a smart move as long as the group behind it is really good at restaurants, because that's the restaurant business is just tough, but by all means, any little thing that gives you an edge will be helpful. I don't know if it would pop up on the show. I doubt it would because they're promoting their own restaurant and that's the space where it's at. Who knows, could there be a spinoff at dann Who's restaurant because some of the new cast moves to New York and serves it as a restaurant. I mean, I think that's a little far fetched, but I mean anything is possible. It all comes down to the money and the finances, and if they can negotiate a space where they, you know, they help each other wherever it's beneficial, sure, that's great. But and it probably means that Ariana will be spending more time there because maybe her thing is going to be wanting to stay on Broadway, like she said she wanted to do. She would do anything for Mama Mia, so I think that's someplace she would like to be so I think they will be spending a lot more time in New York. Look in this show, anything is really possible. Could you know they they need venues when you take the show out of it, Mariana still has a long standing relationship with the network. She could literally go and say, hey, we need you to help us out. Can you do an episode here and will provide you the food and the location in someplace to be. Or maybe it's a storyline where the new cast comes out and trains one of their members or advices. Anything that creates storyline is a possibility. I still sort of think that you don't want to muddle it. But yet, with the Valley being in the age group that it is and the mommy storyline, there's still going to be a fascination with the singles of Daniel and Ariana with what's next? Will they get married? Will they will they get into that next level with the Valley. So you know, maybe there's still times any of it is possible because they're all still family, they all still work together, and if it provides press fodder storyline, any bit of its possible. It could also just be it may not actually show up on the show, but then those people. Anybody that goes to New York can go and visit, and that's going to make some great press too, So it could go either way. But I personally think that they are going to try to keep the new vander Pump a little bit more pure and the Valley is unless they're looking for a spin off in New York, I think they're going to keep it separate. I think there's enough to happen. But remember, one of the things that this network does exceptionally well is blur the line between what's actually happening on the show and what's happening outside of the show. Where again, if you look at any other television show or movie, they don't do that, and most other reality shows don't. These particular ones, the Housewives, and these ones, the Valley and vander Pump Rules, they embrace all the stuff that happens outside and treat it like it's an extension of the show. So for that purpose, I definitely think nothing is necessarily off the table. And again somebody came and said, hey, we just want a little bit of help, would they help, probably, And if it gives them a free location and some more fodder to talk about, you bet. There are going to be all about that, but I don't think it will become a staple on the show. Okay, the next headline. People kind of got all over Ariana's post, so all the cast members made their post, and everybody's sort of like, oh is there hidden meaning of who she dissed and who she didn't disc Let me say this number one. Every post is intentional, and these people in particular are very good about seeing and looking outside, and I remember, you know, Rachel, she would say things like, oh no, they're going to see it this way or they're going to say it that way, and like, what are you talking about it? Straightforward? You all you fans see things in this world, especially on this show, multi levels on all the way back. So it would be surprising to me that this was not All of Ariana's posts was definitely intentional. What she chose, is she right? Could she have put fifty four to those up there? There's not enough photos that could really describe her experience on the show. But if she didn't put somebody on there, my opinion, it's because she didn't want them on there, right. She was just putting some highlights together on something that meant something to her, Was it shady? I wouldn't say it was shady, but was it honest? Probably it was honest. It's her perspective, it's what's important to her now. It's her right to put on what she wants. Did she thank everybody in a long heartfelt post, you know, singling people out? She didn't? Does she have to know? You know? And it's more personal if she does it to them individually also, But I do think right now her role is moving beyond it, and especially now with the show not being there together made whether she told them she wasn't coming back or they said they weren't, or was mutual, she's moving on. I really think that. And she said her goodbye, She put on whoever she wanted to put on, and you know, next she's off, she's out of there, So that one's done, okay. Now. On the other side of that was Tom's statement, which is interesting and fascinating, and everybody's sort of bagging on him because they're saying he didn't write it. It's not in his style, it's not the style he's ever written before. It's not the attitude of which he's ever you know, felt sorry or took accountability or really dug into that side. This one is a little bit more moving, So nobody believes he wrote it. Now, who cares if he wrote it or not, if he hired somebody to write it, if his publicist wrote it, or is whoever is marketm or whatever, whoever wrote it. It's part of his rebrand, right, It's part of stepping away from what people think about him or have thought about him and showing a more mature side. Now what's going to matter is is he mature enough and dedicated enough to creating that rebrand if there is a rebrand of what he wants people to think of him. Let's not forget there's a lot of money and popularity in being that bad guy and being the hated guy. So it is a bit of a conundrum as to where he goes from here. Does he lean into the bad guy, does he change from the bad guy to not? He doesn't want to be the most hated guy in the entertainment world. It's fifty to fifty. A lot of the nice guys get looked over and the bad guy gets more attention, which is what he leaned into and made his living off of. So he's at a crossroads. Making a decision on what's important for him. If I was reading into that post, I would look at it as he's leaning towards a rebrand and moving away from the irresponsible, flighty, selfish, self centered guy that people have labeled him, but whose next move, whatever it is, every little thing is either going to be in alignment with that and the rebrand, or if he's one foot in and one foot out and he's back to the old Tom expectations, then that's where he needs to stay, sit and lean into because nobody's going to buy into one post makes you a changed man, so he's going to be a lot of movements that have to follow it along. If he's trying to step away from the young playboy, wild guy that he's living with or living as right now and again, he is in a relationship and he has put that out there and that they're moving in together and that it's serious, and whether he's going to try to get placed on the Valley or a spin off, or if the rumors and speculation was true that he has a development deal with the network, what does he do with that? So really anything is possible there too. We're going to have to wait and see and I think look on television, on screen, And I've said this in numerous podcasts with Rachel, what relationships were real and what relationships were not real? Who are these people friends with? Now? Lala has already come out and said she's not friends with Sandoval and she's not an interest. Sheena and Tom had a real friendship. What happens next, We're going to have to see. On that note. Actually, it is also rumored that Sheena is buying for a spinoff. Now, let's not forget that this was a spin off based on Sheina. Is it possible she could get another one? I don't know. Was she exciting enough to captivate everybody? I don't know. Is it impossible? Definitely not. She's already had the first one, but she's not twenty and it would have to be some very interesting concept. Her and Brock moved back to Australia and connect with his family. Her and Brock in the Summer Moon move to I don't know, the buyo and start something fresh or I don't know. It's going to have to be something original or from a business venture. It could be a home makeover show, right because Brock's been doing a lot of that sort of stuff. So maybe they go do a home makeover show again. I don't know her personal popularity, but I do not think any of them are going to hang on to the old friendships. Really. I don't think anybody's going to care. And just a little bit of time away from each other, you grow up and you figure out who your real friends are and what you want out of life. And they all have friends outside of the show, So I don't think that any of them will have super super strong relationships over the long term. Will they show up at a Bravocon and hug each other and act like best friends? You bet? Until nobody goes to Bravocon, they're going to do that, or they're going to lean into the arguments and Tom and Ariana are going to be asked to be seated at the opposite sides of the table. But yet they'll still go because they love the fans and draw paycheck from those things too. Let's not forget that on those friendships. It is also reported that Tom Schwartz felt abandoned by Tom Sandoval ahead of the bar closure, and this is from Reality Tea. I'm sure he did. I'm sure. Look, Tom Schwartz is a strange one to me because he acts like the puppy dog. He acts like the best friend. Nobody is so stupid through life that they are oblivious to what's really going on. And you know, part of it's a character you play. And I'm not even talking about it on television. I just mean in life, right, so you sort of adopt a persona and you kind of go with it, and you know, you're kind of the nice, dopey guy. And I'm not saying he's stupid or not smart. I'm just saying the persona that he puts out there is that kind of nice, lovable, dopey guy. And nothing's really his fault. He didn't know any better. You know, who's he gonna stay friends with? I don't. I don't know. I don't know, but I do think his friendship with Tom was real, and I think he feels probably used by Tom. And I'm not sure that Schwartz and Sandobal in the real world will will continue to have a friendship. I don't I don't know. I don't know that they're healthy for each other. Tom Schwartz's I believe, offered a new podcast, I think, right, so he's gonna go out and do his thing. He's not in a relationships still, I think, or he's with that really really young girl. I don't know, But are him and Tom gonna Tom and Tom gonna hang out together? I think there's probably a lot of you know, kind of icky there and they probably will be better with a fresh new start and remaining acquaintances. But we'll see. We know that Chortz is on the valley. Is he going to be the neighbor that you know, is just the single guy that brings in the drama of the dating and you're trying to the married friends, are trying to hook them up with the girls, or you know, does he bring in that single element along with everybody that's married and family oriented that you know could be you know, we all have that friend a Peter Pan if you will, that you're trying to help fix up and or goes after your friends or can babysit when the couples go out on family and like, you know, there's a lot of stuff that he could do on there, but it's just going to be a weird formula. I think the Valley's going to be really in an interesting space to watch with the Jackson Britney thing, and then you know some of the OG's coming on. We know they taped now, we don't know that they've signed on and we'll be brought on for the next season. We just know they had an appearance on the show, and they're probably doing that to see the temperament and see the relationships and where the stories can go from that. But and that includes Schwartz, Sina, La La, all of those guys, so we're gonna have to see. Now. We do know that Lala is really good friends with Britta in real life, so that one probably could be long term in my opinion, So let's wait and see on that one. The restaurant ties are also interesting because him leaving one side of the restaurant, and the part where everybody was mad about is that Santoval apparently never showed up at the restaurant, but Schwartz actually put work into the restaurant. So now that Jax is kind of a lone wolf, is Schwartz Jackson's new best friend? Are they gonna are they gonna help out in the restaurant? Is that his way into the valley? And then Jax has an ally and Schwartz is the nice dopey guy that can be in between Britney's friend. He can be Britney's friend and Jax's friend, but you know, participate in the restaurant. I don't know. That's a good possibility and a good fix for Jax to have a buddy, and he gets to be the guy that Jack's leans on and can still be friends with Brittany and the other girls. So yeah, that's probably a good role for Schwartz here as well. Okay, this one is odd to me. I don't know the reasoning. But Kristen, we know, is pregnant, but does not know the sex of a baby. And there are a lot of people my European relatives never want to know the sex of the baby. I wanted to know the minute I could, right because everything needed to be playing around the gender. But her best friend, Brittany knows knows the sex. Now why, I don't know? The couple themselves don't know. I guess it's so that when they do the gender reveal, somebody knows what the gender is in order to do the gender reveal. I guess that's why they did that. And who would have thought that Kristin would have been the one that came out on top being sane and stable. But everybody's rooting for her too, which is also really nice. You know, she's got the boyfriend, she's about to have the baby, she's got the friendship, she's got the spin offs and the podcast, and she's getting a real real chance and I think that's really awesome for her and hopefully she maximizes it and makes it go for a really long time. A couple of little rumors too, the Jess and law Lass situation. Everybody is still spinning around about that. What's going to happen? Why did she The rumors are she did actually let her go, and she let her go because for the finances it's a little bit uncertain. She's now got two kids as a single parent to take care of, and so the rumors are that she doesn't didn't know where the future was going to lie, where the money's coming in, and that she let just go for those reasons. Oh thing that I do think is quite interesting or funny is all of you guys were sort of split, do we want Vandercump to come back or are we over it? There was really a split on if you we're just happy to have an end because it was its time, or you wanted it to go forever, or you wanted one more season to wrap up and be you know, show the memories and etc. But one thing that has really emerged out of this is all of a sudden, everybody's feeling nostalgic. So even the people were like, yeah, it's done its thing, it's next to go there all everybody's wanting to post memorable moments and go back over the scenes, and it really meant a lot to you fans, and so people talking about it and sharing do you remember this, do you remember that the memes that will come from it, the moments? I find that lovely, right. I find that really fascinating for everybody to be seeing that. But it also shows that there is It shows the depth at which this show and its characters reached people and how much they enjoyed it, whether it started as a guilty pressure or an escapism or just fun and water cooler talk where you went in the next day and everybody got to talk about what happened and what do you think? And did you see that fight? And oh my gosh. But now there's because it's not I mean, BacT, there's the nostalgia, and I find that great and interesting at how much of you are still reliving in that and and reliving it by posting the things that you are online. I guess one other thing I think that this was mentioned in Lalla's thing was that she was asked would she do anything different? And the only thing Lalla said that she would do different. She would not change the things she said. She would not change any of her actions or emotions. The only thing she felt bad about was not giving Ariana the heads up, but she would not also, you know, really go try to mend that relationship. So I think that shows a little bit of growth on Lalla's part, you know, owning a mistake, recognizing the mistake, but not shying from the mistake. She I'm calling it a mistake. So I think that that, you know, that shows a little bit of growth on Lawa's point as well. So I think that is all all of the many headlines for this week. You know, one thing about Bravo and NBC and vander put Rules is there's always stuff coming around the corner. So every time we think that it's kind of the end or it's done, it's not. And now we're going to start getting the information on the new cast, and what we can expect, Bravo is going to let the Ogs run wild and assist them in continuing to get headlines and make news. They're going to promote the heck out of the Valley. They're going to promote anything that Ariana does. They're keeping the old IP live. One thing that I thought was funny, I'm just gonna I'm gonna say this. Bethany told me something that was really funny. She had been off of Housewives for many, many years, like ten years or so. She went to Australia and she saw a bus promo for the Housewives and you know, her face was still on it. And I'm not saying anything negative about it. I'm saying it's again. They own all this valuable IP, all of these cast members photos, all of those clips that you all are enjoying. Again, they own all of that and they're going to continue to use it any way they can to keep people remembering that feeling they had of enjoyment and sharing the stuff with their friends at the water cooler. They're going to keep tapping into that while they promote the new show, and then the cast members the Ogs if they lean into all of that, they benefit from the free advertising and marketing and lean into it and make more moves on it. So look, at the end of the day, we are nowhere near rid of distance from away from the ogs of vanderput Rules. We have new casts, new expectations. They're all going to fill similar roles. If you all the OG fans don't embrace it and love into it, some of you will. They're going to go find the new younger, twenty something fans that are interested in living that space. So Vanderpunt Rules could go on for many, many years. Who knows. Every couple of years I get recast it and it'll go on for eternity. I don't know. But anyways, I hope you enjoyed today's episode of Going Rogue. It was a lot to cover. These ogs are not going away quietly. They're not going to stop talking, they're not going to stop sharing. You the fans don't want it to stop. So I think there's still a lot more to come, and many interesting facts and secrets will continue to come out too. So until next time, make it a great day.
