Rumors have been swirling that Rachel has stepped away from her podcast to head back to the Sur alley, but is this true? From Brittany's latest business venture to if 'VPR' is actually going to air in the near future and more, Juliette is back to address some of the juiciest headlines in the world of Bravo.
Hey guys, welcome back to another episode of Going Rogue. This is Juliette Harris and today we're going to be covering some more headlines. So let's get into it, beginning with Britney Cartwright is opening her own bar. I think, I know I've said it before. I'm kind of on the Brittany train. I'm happy for her, and as I've said in these last few episodes, I think she really has the opportunity to leverage her brand.
She is definitely on the up.
So the article says, Britney Cartwright helped get her ex husband Jax Taylor's restaurant bar business, Jack's Studio City open and thriving.
Now she's breaking ground on her own place.
Y'all know, we started in the bar restaurant business, and we started off with Jack's.
A lot has changed since we started.
Then she acknowledges that she did a lot to help that place, and now here she is.
Britz is coming to Weiho. Okay, So again, I think this is really cool for her.
I think she is living her best life and she is building her solo brand so that no matter what happens in her life. If there was ever a reconciliation, whether she moves on to somewhere else, wherever she goes, this is going to be her piece. I think it's interesting that you know, she's just using her solo name Britz.
I think that, and look.
At the end of the day, what is the familiar property. They are known by their name, and then she will continue to be using her name in that way, right, so she will only be referred to that way because it helps point back to the restaurant and to the brand that she's building. It's also my understanding that the backers, the partners, if you will, are the same partners that invested in Jacks, which makes sense because she already had a relationship with them. They know how she works and you know what she's going to bring to the table, and so I think it makes sense. I don't think that there.
Will be a you know, conflict for them. It depends. Actually that's not true. I don't know where they are in the marriage right because.
If they've legally and it's different in every state, it depends where they are divorced legally separated, what the financials are to see if the other person is entitled to or not. So that's the only part that is kind of up in the air is what the legal part is. I think that if she's smart, she will do the same things that the others do where they make appearances, they have specialty nights. I mean, you could end up with a drink book, a recipe book, all based off of her doing this one thing. And clearly these restaurant tours, this partnership group, they know what they're doing. And something I'll explain for those that don't know, there are so many investment groups out there that have a great formula for a product, but it's difficult.
To get that.
You know, break in, break the ice, break into the into the world because there's so much noise at us all for advertising and marketing. So one of the faster ways to do it is obviously to collab with a celebrity.
There's a lot of them that put the celebrity out front.
So the trade in getting to use that person's name is they get paid, they get something on the back end, and then they get the benefits of being the smart business person on the front end. So all of a sudden, not only will we see Britt as the funny, bouncy mommy reality star, but all of a sudden, we're going to see her as a business woman making her moves and you know, setting menus if it's going to be recipe books, drink books, you know whatever.
IP.
However, she can use her IP, which is her intellectual property, her name, face likeness, how they can all maximize it. So I think it's super smart. I think that the reception is going to be great. I think the fans are kind of on the Britney train too, right, so I think they want to see her succeed.
They're going to support her.
My understanding is it's not very far from from Jacks and Across or sort of kitty corner to sir, so you kind of got that Vanderpunt rule bar and restaurant for all that you can kind of hit them all with one stop. So I think it's very smart. And one of the things I think that's kind of changed is everybody used to want to go on television to get famous.
Now television really becomes a commercial for all the other ventures. So I think that that is rather interesting.
Also, so that is Brittany in her headline, so let's get.
Onto the next headline.
Ariano Maddox says, she'll do whatever it takes to start. In Mama MIA's revival on Broadway, The vander Punt Rules Stars thirty nine made a splash on the New York theater scene back in January as she starred as Roxy Heart in Chicago. But she goes on to say that the first one that she ever really saw and loved was Mamma Mia. I think all of us can sort of agree with her there. So I know, we talked about this a little bit. I do think she is positioning herself in all the right places. So she did Roxy and she's now got Broadway under her belt, and so she wants another Broadway.
Again.
It's going to depend on the reception and the talent and the part that she's after and all those sort of things if people are going to say, you know, yes or no. But what we are seeing more and more is when you can use the celebrity cameo, it gets a different level of press to hit people that might not normally see it.
So Broadway often thought of.
As a little bit of an older crowd. Sometimes she's going to bring in the young crowd. And so we just saw and Juliet, which I loved.
I took. My daughter's absolutely loved it.
It was fantastic, and Charlie Dmilia was just cast in that ensemble cast And so all of a sudden, that takes those young influencers and you know, TikTok Instagram, all the kids that are my daughter's ages, which are eleven, they love all those and she's a dancer and now she's in this and Juliet and it was again really fantastic. So it is reviving Broadway and theater to the younger people, which I am all in favor for. So it's gonna come down to does she have the notoriety?
You bet? Is she gonna pull press? Yes?
What's the demographic? Remember vander pump rule tends to skew actually a little bit older female. I think a lot of us have the misconception that it's younger female. It's actually older female. People kind of pass this time looking back to that time, I think is the way I would characterize that. But it's gonna come down to do they think she still has enough juice? Is it going to bring the press? Which I do think it will, And is she good enough for whatever role she's going for?
And or.
Because also a lot of the main ones will be singing, not just dancing. I mean, she did sing kind of in as Roxy. But anyways, it's going to depend on what people think. But do I think it's a reality. I also feel like these productions are making more guest roles, So Chicago did it first and best where they had constantly had that rotating roxy, so it gave you constant refresher for the media and for fans to pay attention to somebody new. So look, I think she definitely could be in the running. She's obviously put it out there. She's put it out there for two reasons. It sort of shows what press and pickup it gets. It's kind of like, hey, guys, look at all these people are talking about me doing this.
You want to cast me.
There's also a bit of maybe she already knows that she's in the running for that. She's kind of cripping it and getting the fans excited. So it could be either one of those. But it's definitely a press move for her, and a good one because she one hundred percent could be in the running for that. Okay, next headline, vander Pump vander Pump heading for the Dump Show in crisis amid cat fighting cast salary demands clashes which could kill off program forever. This is Radar Online. Radar Online can reveal the future of the hip Bravo reality show is uncertain as insiders whisper that the show may not return due to ongoing conflicts between cast members and high salary demands. Now spies claim cast members increase salary demands are holding up production. Insiders claim they're still negotiating with a few stars who are holding out for more money. Okay, so I have a couple of opinions on this. First, let's talk about spies and insiders. That is normally either a cast member or somebody from production, plain and simple that doesn't want their name in there. So there is probably some truth to this, and this isn't the first time we've heard it, right, This one's pretty severe saying it's headed for the dump and it's more likely not to happen, but that doesn't.
Necessarily mean it's true.
Also, you know, it's a moving train, if you will, and each car has a different story. So we don't know yet, and we won't know until these things are settled, but I would imagine it is getting close to the producer saying, you know, get in or get out, get off the pot. We don't want to wait anymore, right, And I would I know I said this before, but I would also say why wouldn't they go on it? Because take less money to still be on the show and do all these other things that they're all doing, these these spinoff projects. So we just talked about Britney's restaurant, and now I saw something very cool. Ariana has a deal with DSW Shoes, and so they gave out a huge promo box to the press and influencers.
I mean like a ginormous probably I don't know, three foot two and a half foot box, and.
I believe it had two pairs of shoes and a personalized note and all on the outside. It was really pretty. It was black and white, and it had her name and DSW. I mean, she's getting paid for that, right, Why would you not if you don't And I'm not just talking about her, if any of the casts, if they're fighting about their salary, and maybe it's some of the lesser cast or the casts that aren't able to get these outside deals, and yes, you could look at it and say desireon Indeed, to go back on the show. No, she doesn't, but if she does go back on the show, the interest in her continues because right now viewers are wondering, Okay, it was sort of a weird ending, and the cast were all in a weird place, and the cast are kind of in a bad place, So what is this next show going to look like?
We've talked about the fact that there's a bunch of other.
Relationships entering, so those people coming to the show might make it more interesting. So I do think those diehard fans are still going to tune in.
What does that mean? That means more demand for.
People like Arianna and Brittany Well, I know that's the other show, but using him as an example, and even law she continues to do hers right right, So if they're on the show, it becomes more of a commercial for their other projects. It allows that you know that they're relative, they're in demand, they're still newsworthy, and that opens the doors for the bigger money off camera. So I would assume that it will go forward. I would assume that most of the cast will come together. I don't know how Bravo feels about Let's say they get five out of six, is that enough? Or they get everybody but Sam Sandoval, or they get everybody but but Ariana.
Like, I don't know how they see that.
And it's kind of like I said, this moving train and with moving parts, they don't know.
They don't know until they have what they have.
So I will say on the last season, when Rachel left to go to the mental health facility, and they were trying to get her back on, you know, and she was undecided and leaning towards the know but didn't give them a hard no yet there was still this the show had to start recording, and they didn't know issu or isn't she while they were recording, and so they kind of had to work around that that she could at any minute say I'm going to come back or I'm not. And so again we're in that same setting they're trying to look at how do they guide a storyline, how do they tie all these people together without.
Firmly knowing who's coming back or not yet.
So there's going to come a point, I'm sure they're going to put a deadline on it, and it's going to say this is where we're going to start filming, and you have to be in or out. Salaries have to be decided by X amount of time because we are either going to pull the plug and.
We're going to move forward.
So I honestly going to think a lot of this speculation is because it isn't It isn't solid yet. I believe the intention is to move forward. It's supposedly a shortened version. My guess is it will be with all of these new cast members sort of coming in.
And I'll tell you one thing that.
I thought was very emotional that they did was when they did that sort of photo ontage of everybody.
I mean, it was really sweet.
You see how young everybody was when they started to now and that they've grown up on the television. It's pretty wild conceptually. So I think that the show at the end of the day needs to make a profit, so they have to make the bottom line make sense on what they're paying and what they bring in with viewers. For the cast, I think most of them would rather do it than not. And again, even the most successful ones, if you just take Ariana alone, it's still more beneficial for her to do it while she's lining up other projects. Unless she's already got some amazing projects lined up right. Then it could be a conflict, or then she could say it's bringing her brand down. But I feel like she's still got the juice on the rise up, so why not use it? And I also think it's nice. I mean, look, we're seeing it with Yellowstone. People got really angry that, you know, it was just going to have an unfinished ending. People like to finish things. People, you know, producers and showrunners and production companies, they like to end on it up. They don't like to do one more season just to do it in case it goes down.
They like to end when things are good.
However, when fans are really invested and they don't get an ending, there can be a lot of backlash there too. So I think that I think the idea, the dream for them is to make this move forward to still make money, and if everybody can come to the table, they'll benefit more from being on it than having it just end the way that it did.
That's my opinion.
There even somebody else like kind of a not necessarily a headline, But what we are seeing is, you know, those affiliated with the show, we're seeing them out and about. We're seeing them maximize those minutes. So Stasi, for example, was seen or pictured on the red carpet of Wicket. Okay, that's one of the hottest tickets in town. So the fact that she was able to get on there, that says a lot for the cachet of the show. Still and who they are. Look, you never know, her publicis could be the same as somebody else that's in the movie also, But I'm just saying Still, I stand by the fact that it is better solution to move ahead with the show for all of them than not.
But we'll see, we'll see.
And she of course has her own shows and brands and podcasts and things going on too because of the success from the show.
All Right.
The next headline Bravos Andy Cohen delivers inspiring message after twenty twenty four election results.
Late night TV hosts.
Share their thoughts and Bravos Andy Cohen delivered a message of unity. I know after last night's election, half the country woke up feeling depressed, angry, scared, and the other half very excited. That's democracy, and that's okay. Feel those feelings today, but please, for the love of God, don't give up or threaten to move to Canada or anywhere else. The truth is, we need you right here in this fight. You matter, and so to all the issues that made you vote in the first place. So tommorrow and every day forward, keep pushing for progress and look on the bright side. It's interesting because Watch What Happened to Live has been on for a long time and it has grown in a place beyond Bravo, And the kind of the tie in is to say, well, you're a fan of the show, so come on and mention that and then talk about your projects. We're living in a world that's shrinking on some of these things. There aren't as many outlets. There aren't as many late night because it's not the terrestrial television. They have more leeway with language and fun things they can do and drinking on TV. You can't do that on CBS or ABC or NBC. So that show itself has really spread its wings and allowed for a wider range of people to come on. And Andy then becomes a little bit more important in the celebrity world because he's having these other celebrities outside of the bravosphere on as well.
This one's interesting.
Jack's Taylor slams very sad, Sheenache and Brock Davies after podcast comments.
And this is from Reality Tea.
So in the article, it says during a school event, the couple observed Jackson Randall interacting. Despite Jack's claim that Randall owed him a significant sum Sena and brock founally encounter strange and discussed it openly, which Jack's labeled as an invasion of privacy and an attempt to gain attention for the podcast. Imagine having absolutely no content for your podcast, so you have to stoop so low as to talk about your friend's personal life and private moments at your child's school. So again, this one is it's tricky because they're you know, they're on this reality show and they have this podcast, and they're looking for banter. But anything to do with the kids and kids' schools and kids' lives I think is a very slippery slope. And unless it's pre agreed upon beforehand, I don't think it's very cool to take advantage of the real life situation around your kid that didn't choose to be on the show or be a top book of conversation and and bring it in right because the point is that that situation Randall, no matter how horrible he is, I don't know.
Allegedly there's all these you know, horrible stories, but that is his child and lawless child.
By the way, it's their child's school and and Jax's I'm assuming they're all at the same school because the way that that's written, and Jackson's son's school, So that should be a safe space and it should be off limit. I know that some of the kids are on the show a little bit, which makes that a little bit more of a gray area, but I still feel that that you know, their kids' lives, their kids' schools, kids plays, you know, unless they've agreed upon it, I think it's a slippery slope. And you know, I know that Sheena and Brock were looking for something to talk about and it wasn't directed at the kids, the school and Brock's sun However, I don't know. I think that they have to be able to live their lives with a certain amount of privacy and at their kids' school.
You know, I don't think that's the best choice. That's just my opinion.
I think we already know that Jax is not a Sheena fan, and he publicly said that he didn't want her to be on the Valley the fact that they're kind of arguing at each other. That's also a normal thing for these guys. You know, they take stabs and jabs at each other all the time, so that it makes it makes headlines. So again, when it comes to Jack's I never know where he's at, where his head is at. Is he you know, he's hot one minute, cold the next, he's mad, he's angry, he's sad. So I think he's a little all over the place. But I don't think he's wrong for calling them out. Remember, my opinion is that I don't think any of these relationships are very real, and I think that they're very much work colleagues. You go to the office and you have colleagues, and you might go to lunch or dinner with those people and you might talk about their personal life and you might enjoy their their But work relationships are still a little bit different than real personal, genuine organic relationships. Put those relations turn into those sure you spend a lot of time together. Also, what happens when you're outside of the show, Right when the cameras go down, are you still hanging out or do you wait till next season? You know, I think those friendships with these two shows in particular are a little all over the place, and I think it's very difficult to really keep true friendships and make good TV. And if you're not on the same level of or the same commitment to the result, meaning everything's okay to talk about or there's boundaries if you're not on the same page, that's where some of these feuds kind of get going. And you look, they're doing a lot to stay relevant in the off season. And I've said this before as well. I think Bravo as a whole encourages this. They definitely don't stop them. I remember one time that I spoke to brav PR and asked about like the gag orders they have what they're supposed to be talking about and what they're not, and they just told me they don't really have much control once they leave the show and whatever they do on their own time, they really don't have a lot of control over it.
So the cast does what they know best. They hustle.
They hustle how to stand the headlines, They hustle, how to make a buck.
They're hustlers. They're good at it, and this show rewards them for it.
And it's like a kind of a combination of the storyline that the producers want and then the storylines that the cast actually guides it into. Plus when the fans react, well, the show and the cast to actually react to the fans. So it's pretty wild formula that you don't really see on other reality shows or other shows as a whole. And it works for them, and that's why they're fans. You fans are so die hard because they've invited you in to be a part of the decision making and the influence, and you are, you deeply vested in the in the characters, the people, the relationships, and the sh shows. So that formula works exceptionally well for them, and they all feed into it. They keep talking about it. You know, some of them are all a lot of them are trying to break into Hollywood also, so they look at all of this any press being good press. But all in all, I think it takes a toll on any real friendships actually thriving and growing again unless they're on the same page. If two people say, hey, let's go get in this feud and let's let's expose these things.
Great.
If there's a hey, we can talk about everything, but our kids, our kids are off bounds and then somebody says something, then that's gonna, you know, break the relationship. And you have to remember, in addition to whatever decision making that they're making on their own, they're being prompted by production. They're being prompted by media, They're being prompted by their partners. Oh what if we do this, Well, let's go here, What if we did this, this would get a really good reaction? Or what piece of information do we want to leak to the press or keep, or what can bring us bigger storyline?
You know, like this is constantly in their head all the time.
It's not like you're on CSI and you show up with a script and stick to that script. It's very different that you're kind of self producing along with this loose storyline from the producers, and it's supposed to be shocking and interesting. So I do feel for the people, you know, trying to actually have real friendships, except I think all these people have been in here long enough that they know exactly what they get.
Oh, Lala, can's ride or die?
Assistant Jessica gets shady after podcast exit.
This is reality tea.
Something about reality t reality tea is definitely, you know, kind of a Bravo.
Extension, if you will.
I can't say that they're paid her own by I think they're independent, but they're definitely influenced on the side of Bravos, so I think they get things first and get more of an inside scoop. So this could be literally what I'm going to read, or it could also be setting up for what is the possibility of what's to come. So Lala Kent recently announced that her assistant Jessica Walter, will be leaving the podcast. Lala shocked fans, not just with the news itself, but with how she announced it. As it turns out, Jessica wasn't a huge fan of the announcement either. Lala says, my ride or Die, Jessica is no longer going to be working for me, and she'll no longer be on the podcast. My relief is that she's going to spread her wings and fly, and we wish her all the best and I love her more than anything. I'm so excited to see what she's going to do in her future. Jessica's fans express their sadness and disbelief. Others were left begging to know what happened. First of all, Laala's no dummy, and she's definitely no dummy, but the press has lunch, so she's gonna get out first. And the name of the game is whoever gets out first wins, because you're controlling that narrative.
So she did that. I don't know.
What's happening next for Jessica, why she left, or what she has going on, and if she is doing something on her own, maybe she's getting her own podcast, Maybe they had creative differences.
You know, it could be any bevy of reasons.
But at the end of the day, Lala wasn't going to sit back and let Jessica announce something first. Laala did the right thing. She went to the narrative. She controlled the narrative. It was gracious, and there you have it. Is there something more we don't know yet, We'll have to see. I don't have an insight to say why, but what I can say is from a pr perspective, Laala was right to go out the way that she did. She's protecting her brand, her family, her livelihood. And she was positive. You know, she didn't go out there and trash or something. She said something positive. So we'll now we have to wait and see what Jessica has in store. I would imagine, why would she leave a good, thriving job unless something happened, Whether it's she's moving on to a greener pasture, she's got her own show, she's writing a book. Who knows right, or she just didn't want to be involved in it anymore. Could be any of those things. Maybe she didn't want to be on the upcoming show. Maybe Laala didn't want her on the upcoming show. If it actually comes to push and so, there's a lot. But I'm going to say good for Lalla for controlling the narrative and the pr and good for her for being gracious about it and saying something positive.
So that's all we can derive out of that.
Katie Maloney gets candid about her divorce from Tom Schwartz, and she talks about the possibility of remarriage.
This is from Bravo.
More than two years after filing for divorce, Vander Pump Rule's cast member spoke candidly about some of the factors that led to the decision. Katie reiterated that Tom, whom she legally married in twenty nineteen, spent years struggling with major commitments, so much so that she became increasingly concerned about his personal growth. Katie said she normalized bad behavior that she didn't deserve and finally called it quits after determining the situation was unlikely to improve. She told the host she wanted a partner with the same goals and intentions and a similar vision for their future, and then she goes on to say if it means not having to get divorced again, that I would avoid marriage. She said, divorce is really devastating, no matter who asked for it, no matter how necessary it is.
It's just a mind f to go through that with somebody. To kind of funny, I know, you guys are gonna all come after me.
I didn't actually believe they were really married when I watched when I had to watch beginning in the show, they just didn't seem like it was a real marriage. I thought maybe it was staged for the show in all reality, and they.
Didn't seem No.
I didn't watch the seasons before, so I'm just going off of when I had to start watching the show.
But I didn't see that warm.
Chemistry or affection or you know, they seem more like pals, and they seemed like, I don't know, he's she's kind of hardened and driven, I would say, but also a little on the boring side.
And then he's kind of wishy washy to me.
And sort of follows Sandball and you know which way the wind blows.
So I don't know. It just seemed like a weird match to me personally.
And then now knowing what I've learned of him, and that he's very indecisive, and he's so indecisive and intellectually challenged in the bravery and honesty part, because we saw what he did to Joe, which I thought was, you know, really gross.
And you know, you can only you can make excuses.
For somebody being nice and dumb for so long he knew what he was doing in the choice is that he made stringing Joe along and maybe he was stringing Katie along too, you know, because he felt like it was good for the storyline and that it was good for the show.
So you know, I don't know, I.
I And then you know, good for Katie for wanting to get out of it, but you know, there's still entanglements with finances and you know, apartments and you know, getting out of a divorce. So I do think it's hard, and I would I would have said it would have been wise for her to keep any relationships moving forward private, but she already sort of came out and talked about I think it was she know that confirmed it. But her relationship is now public fodder, her new one, which I don't know the state of it right now, you know. And she says, she gives the appearance that she wants to be rooted in putting up healthy boundaries, but I'm not really sure she's done that so far. And so, you know, good for her for trying. We all need to have those boundaries. And I think it is a smart thing to say, I'm going to wait. I want to make sure that my relationship is real, that it's healthy. They're not dating me because I'm famous, They're not dating me because they want to be on the show.
Take the time to see if the relationship is right.
I am a firm believer, and I know this is the old school, a minimum of a year that you should be dating somebody, because I truly believe that the end of a year, people really start showing their true colors when they're in the beginning of a relationship, they're always putting their best foot forward and they're, you know, all lovey dovey and trying to be as best as they can be. And then all of a sudden, things start getting realer, and if you move in with each other or life and goals starts really happening and people stop trying quite so hard, so they do show their true colors. And so I think that's a healthy boundary, and I think that is something that she should keep. So I think that's all the headlines for the moment. Oh, one last thing I wanted to talk about. I recently did a podcast, the Sarah Fraser Show, who I Love.
She's a friend of mine, and.
I was told and was unaware that all the Bravo buzz behind the scenes and the bloggers and everybody else's curious to know if Rachel's going to come back on the show, and that that's why she wanted to stop doing this podcast.
So I just wanted to address that.
But I'm going to do it in the same way I did on her show, and I'm going to say to you you will have to wait.
And see and hear it from Rachel herself.
All right, that's all for now and I hope you enjoyed it and we will check in next.
Week with more headline. Have a good one.
