It’s the Bravo news that’s breaking the internet. Juliette is here to address James Kennedy’s domestic violence arrest from Wednesday night. She shares an exclusive statement from Rachel’s lawyers and offers an important message for Ally Lewber.
Wow. Okay, welcome to a breaking news episode of Going Rogue. I'm Juliette Harris, the host of the Headlines, and most of you know me as a publicist and in specific publicist to Rachel Levis, which is why we are jumping on here right now because this is some pretty wild breaking news. So, James Kennedy was arrested last night for domestic violence. I believe TMZ broke it. Everybody's picked it up and taken it out, and it's kind of rocking the Bravo world right now. And I think what's really important and why it's hitting hard right now is because at the end of the day, this isn't the first time that there's been accusations, and as a woman, I want to know when is enough enough? What does it take before action is made. Something happened in court that I want to explain that's relevant to this, which is kind of fascinating because we've said in the past, if you don't stand up, then you're part of the problem. If you condone it, you're part of the problem. So at what point, with now a minimum of three sets of allegations for alleged abuse, abuse of behavior, or domestic violence behavior. When does the people that pay him or do the people that pay him and support him? When are they not negligent? When are they culpable? So something happened in court for love is blind and basically what happened is was deemed a workplace And I'm going to tell you what that means.
What that means is.
What was happening is these production companies don't just pay these people directly. They use payout companies, they use the third party, and that way what they claim is that they're independent contractors. If you're an independent contractor a lot of people out there will know some way not. You don't work set hours, you're free to work for other people. You have to be able to have all your own set of rules for your working environment.
These people don't have that.
They have to report at a certain time, they can't do competing shows, they have to ask permission for things they do. That is employment. That is a workplace. Why that's important right now is because in the workplace, just imagine you're working at IBM or Google and somebody abuses you. That's what human resources is for. That's what the company will then be culpable. So what does all this mean again right now to James Kennedy and people like him. If you're allowed wow abuse to happen on set and you are aware and people have complained to you. If you were at Google and people were complaining to you, what.
Do you think would happen?
So I think that this is the time it's publicly he's been publicly arrested. He hasn't been charged, and I'll speak to that too.
That is the norm. You get arrested, the police then present the.
Case to a district attorney or a lead attorney and they decide if they're press charges didn't go move forward. Whether that happens or not will depend on the witnesses and the you know, what Ali decides to do if indeed it was allegedly Ali. I don't think she's been named, but I think everybody is suspicious because they were out at an event together earlier on. But it'll depend how she deals with it. Number one, But a DA and attorney they don't absolutely need that person's buy in, And when you look at the history, they can also utilize the history if they feel that something needs to happen. Either way, My question is when do the people that are paying him stand and say enough is enough. This is the third one that has been publicly acknowledged, so I find that it's time. I also have an exclusive first to get statement from Rachel's lawyers, which I'm going to read to you now, and I do actually have to read it putting on the glasses. This is from Mark Gerragos and Brian Friedman. We are aware of James Kennedy's recent arrest for domestic violence. This news is unfortunately not surprising. Rachel's lawsuit describes in significant detail mister Kennedy's long history of erratic, violent behavior and substance abuse. Just as troubling, however, is that NBC and Evolution, the vander Punt Rules production company, who have known about mister Kennedy's troubling behavior all along, have been engaged in a multi year cover up on his behalf. They two bear responsibility.
So there's that.
So of course my phone is blowing up from the from media nationally right now wanting to know.
Actually, the last college just got was does Rachel feel good?
I'm not going to speak for Rachel. It's Rachel's story to tell when she wants to tell it. I don't think anybody feels good about anything like this.
I personally see some.
Amount of probably relief and vindication because when you look at the social posts that people put out against her and calling her a liar and saying she made things up. To the reunion when the cast member sat there next to James Kennedy and we're pro James Kennedy and everybody made Rachel out to be, you know that.
She made these things up.
You know, there's two different things and they are not related.
The affair was one thing.
The abuse that she went through, or the lleged abuse that she endured, and the breakdown that we saw on television because of it, that's all right, it's all there for viewers to see. That was right there for the cast to see. And let's not forget Kristen. Kristin made her allegations and.
Somewhat walks them back.
She's always stood true to them, but she sort of walked back the intensity of them.
And why is that?
Did she want to keep a relationship open with certain companies? You know, I can't. I'm not going to speak to that, but you know, it makes it makes sense.
So look, that's three.
This is the third that we know about at some point people have to stand up and say enough is enough. And if he continues to be employed, first of all, I feel that that people are culpable for thus far. And if he continues to be employed and supported, I think that says a lot about the companies themselves. So again, you've got you've got an actual arrest.
It's demeanor, felony.
I believe the police, the DA will decide if they're going to push forward. You know, this to me looks like a bit of a feather and Rachel's lawsuit too, because it shows everything she has said on that Bethany interview that people went after her for. It's true and has been continuing to come out. So you know, say what you will. But I hope the people that spin the vitrol can at least see because Ali's a very likable person and Ali hasn't done anything wrong in the public eye, and the fans love her and she seems like a sweet girl. And now something like this has happened to her. And if I'm not mistaken, there's a video circulating out there where he grabs her. He grabbed Ali. There were other podcasters who I won't name, that witnessed his erratic behavior. I hope all of these people that were there and present coming speak out, and I hope he gets at minimum the help that he needs. I also know witnesses that have seen I know multiple witnesses that have seen these behaviors, not when he was inebriated. Alcohol wasn't even involved. So that speaks to the true the true temperament and the true danger. And you know, I hope that Ali does what's right for her, but I hope she stays safe.
And I hope that all the people that aren't supportive domestic violence stand up here because it's it's time.
So that's pretty heavy, and it is it's very heavy, and I hope that it gets stopped so something more serious doesn't happen.
Another headline.
What just happened was we said in the in the last headlines that Tom told the judge he was going to be representing himself.
And now apparently.
There are people saying that he's going to gauge an attorney that specializes in this, which I don't believe. I think you know what he's so he's now gone through two attorneys and he's going to go on for number three.
I don't know but he's the one that.
Told the judge that he was going to represent himself, so I think that it's just a three ring circus. I assumed he did that because of the money and not having you know, the next gig lined up, per se, and maybe not having the support of the network and people behind him. I don't know, but I think we're going to have to wait and see. In my opinion, it would be really not smart to take on some of the top attorneys in the business by yourself. I mean I wouldn't. I don't know many people that would, and you know, it speaks to likability. Tom doesn't have a lot of likability. I'm not sure he's going to get a lot of sympathy and support. So we're gonna have to stay tuned and see what happens next. But so far, he's definitely removed. We're parted ways with two attorneys, and we're gonna have to wait and see what happens there. So look, vander Punt rules the ogs. They are the gift that just keeps on giving, Like this should be their sunset song, this should be there, you know, let's chill out for a while.
And clearly that's that's not happening.
So I hope that the fans rally around this situation and say enough is enough. And I hope that the powers that be that employ him also stand up. And I hope he gets the help that he needs, and I hope that he doesn't actually hurt anybody. One thing I'll I will kind of add in here too, is from our last headlines.
Lisa has come out.
Lisa Vanner Pump has come out and said the person that she's more most interested in in making, whether it's cameos or coming back, is Tom Schwartz, which is very interesting, kind of fascinating of all the crew that that's the one. But I guess he's kind of the most innoculous, right. But I think there was a lot of speculation for James and Ali returning because they're young.
And they fit into that and it could have made sense that James came back as a dj okay, But what now? Where where does this go? How do you put him in there?
Now? I cannot see the Vravo fans, which are mainly women, just letting the slide under the rug. I think they let Kristen slide. I think they let Riddy till slide there's been an arrest, that it's out there. I don't know that as a woman you can stand there and say okay, and I'm gonna watch this.
So I think that there'll be a lot of outcry. So what does that mean? I don't know.
I don't believe that the Ogs have begun any sort of filming, because there was that discussion that they were going to do some sort of a wrap up for them.
I don't think that has even started.
I don't know how they include him in that now moving forward, and if he was planning on, you know, or was in the makeup of either being a part of the reboot or the Valley, I don't know how you do that either. I know that he just announced a brand deal. If you're that brand, I hope you're distancing yourself now. What I find fascinating is the stuff with jay Z, which is a little bit different. But the NFL stood next to jay Z and said that they're not changing anything. I think the difference there is there's so much going on with the Diddy stuff that nobody knows what's true or false, and people are coming, so I think they're probably right to wait and see what is real. This situation again precedents previous reportings of it, witnessing on television, the toxicity and the outbursts and the violent.
Behaviors and now an arrest. I think that's the big difference.
So I would be very surprised if the RAVO fans don't stand up and say enough is enough.
And I think you will. I think you will.
All of you fans will say, you know, go get some help, take a break. This isn't for you anyways.
That's what I hope. So I hope.
I hope this ends now. I hope that's that's interesting to you all. It's tragic news and sad to actually report on. But I feel that from the stance for for what needs to happen next, there needs to be culpability and and somebody needs to stand up and do the right thing and say enough enough.
So let's get on board for that, all right, Till next time,
