Bonus: Free The Block (with Remi Kolawole and Najat Mussa)

View descriptionShare

A couple of weeks ago in Melbourne, 9 public housing towers were subject to a police-enforced lockdown with no notice. Melbourne musician Remi Kolawole spoke to Najat Mussa, a resident of one of those blocks, shortly after 8 of the 9 towers had been released from lockdown. The hard, localised lockdown has now been lifted across the board – but the way this has unfolded says a lot about the way the government views race, class and its selective duty to protect. Part of this interview originally aired on Melbourne community radio station 3RRR. We're grateful to be able to bring it to you here on the podcast too.
