(00:00-26:59) – Query & Company kicks off on a Hump Day Wednesday with Jake Query at the Indiana State Fair and being joined by Penske Entertainment & IndyCar CEO Mark Miles joining the show to preview this weekend’s Freedom 250 in Washington D.C. Jake asks him about the increased number of security for the race, some of unique things that the viewers will see on television, how many different people IndyCar has to communicate with for the design of the track, and if this could be a race that is a part of the schedule permanently.
(26:59-41:17) – The Executive Director for the Indiana Standardbred Association, Tony Renz, joins Jake Query at the Indiana State Fair to preview what the entire day looks like from a horse racing standpoint, the number of horses racing in the consolation or championship events that were for sale last year, and the growth of horse racing in Indiana.
(41:17-47:06) – Jake Query concludes the first hour of the show by predicting the first race winner with Eddie. Plus, he forces Eddie to do his impersonation of the announcer.
(47:06-1:09:38) – The second hour of Query & Company tips off with Jake Query highlighting something that was discussed on the Fan Morning Show with the addition of Keenan Allen. He also compares what Allen will bring at age 34 to what Michael Pittman Jr. did for the Indianapolis Colts in his career. Plus, Jake and Eddie recap last night’s win for the Indiana Fever over the Toronto Tempo and Kelsey Mitchell not playing in the fourth quarter because of overheating.
(1:15:46-1:25:58) – Jennifer Tuttle, Director of Racing & Breed Development for the Indiana Horse Racing Commission, makes an appearance on Query & Company to help Jake understand the different between standardbred and thoroughbred horses and some other questions about how horses get to this moment at the Indiana State Fair.
(1:25:58-1:32:05) – Hour number two of Query & Company concludes with Jake and Eddie making another prediction for who is going to win the race that started at the start of the segment.
(1:32:05-2:01:00) – The Indianapolis Colts are set to take on the Atlanta Falcons today and tomorrow in joint practices. Daniel Jones will see a lot of work, but who is going to be second in opportunities out of the Colts quarterbacks? Jake makes a comment about Shane Steichen needing to live up to the nickname that people gave him when he was hired by the Colts.
(2:01:00-2:14:32) – Our final guest on today’s show is Jessica Barnes, Assistant Executive Director of the Indiana Horse Racing Commission, to evaluates Eddie impersonation of Rick Uppal (the horse racing announcer) and educate Jake some more on horse racing. They discuss why you can’t wager on horse racing at any of the fairs, how much of an impact horse racing has on the state financially, and the horses getting used to the environment that they’re racing in.
(2:14:32-2:20:41) – The show closes out with JMV joining Jake to preview his show!
