Jimmy and Dane Recap First Two Rounds of NCAA Tournament!

View descriptionShare

(00:00-23:49) – The Fan Midday Show opens on a Monday with Jimmy Cook and Dane Fife breaking down Indiana’s loss to Miami last night, what Trayce Jackson-Davis has meant to the culture of IU going forward, and how disappointing it was that IU lost in the way they did when you factor in their core principles of how they want to play.

(23:49-40:54) – Jimmy and Dane shift their conversation to the historic loss for the Purdue Boilermakers against Fairleigh Dickinson, what Dane would have done if he was Matt Painter to see if Purdue could make a run, and they debate how likely it is that Zach Edey returns for his final season of eligibility for the Boilermakers.

(39:33-44:05) – Hour one concludes with Jimmy, Dane, and producer Eddie Garrison discussing some of the coaching moves that are starting to come to fruition.

(44:05-1:08:12) – The first guest on today’s show in Joel Erickson of the IndyStar joins Jimmy and Dane on the Midday Show to give an update on what his NCAA bracket looks like, if drafting Anthony Richardson would buy Chris Ballard more time considering how raw of a QB he is, does the signing of Gardner Minshew mean he’s the starting quarterback on week one for the Colts, and discusses if there are any scenarios that the Colts would not select a QB with the fourth overall pick.

(1:08:12-1:23:32) – GoldAndBlack.com’s Brian Neubert joins Jimmy and Dane to give his opinion on what Dane said regarding what Matt Painter and the coaching staff should have tried to do to gain some momentum, when it really became real that Purdue was going to possibly going to lose to FDU, and how his recovery is going.

(1:23:32-1:27:23) – The one o’clock hour concludes with Eddie finally playing the Michigan State fight song for Dane, but he doesn’t put his headphones on to hear it or sing along to it. Then admits that Eddie has made his way up his friendship ladder.

(1:27:23-1:50:40) – Bally Sport Indiana’s Chris Denari is the next guest on today’s edition of the Fan Midday Show with Jimmy and Dane to highlight the final big road trip of the season for the Pacers, how much of an asset James Johnson and George Hill are to the team with their prominent players being so young, and the challenges the coaching staff has right now with Bennedict Mathurin and Tyrese Haliburton being injured while the team is trying to make a push for the play-in tournament.

(1:50:40-2:10:11) – Brendan Quinn of The Athletic joins Jimmy and Dane on a Monday to give his perspective on what Ed Cooley going to Georgetown means for the landscape of college basketball, why he bets against Big Ten teams when it comes to the NCAA Tournament, why it’s outrageous for Boilermaker fans to want Matt Painter fired, and who he has winning the tournament.

(2:07:46-2:10:34) – Jimmy closes out today’s show in quick fashion by thanking today’s guests and previewed tomorrow’s show!
