"What separates people is not politics. It is life experience. I do not care how much money you make or if you think you are a big shot lawyer. Listening to your mother cry herself to sleep because she could not feed you lives inside you forever."

In one of the most vulnerable and personal conversations recorded on Que Pasa Boston, executive producer and host Gabriela Salas sits down with trial attorney and US Senate candidate John Deaton.
John does not speak like a rehearsed politician because he is not one. From surviving childhood sexual abuse and severe urban poverty to serving in the US Marine Corps and taking on federal regulatory agencies like the SEC pro bono for everyday retail investors, Deaton breaks down why career politicians on both sides continue to fail working families.

In this unfiltered episode, Gabriela and John confront the most urgent crises facing Massachusetts and everyday families:

The Broken Immigration System: Why both political parties use immigrants for fundraising rather than creating a permanent, legal pathway for law-abiding families.
ICE in Our Communities: The psychological toll of deportation fears in immigrant neighborhoods like Lawrence, Lowell, and New Bedford, and Johns pragmatic reform model.
The Housing and Energy Nightmare: Why starter homes now cost over 600,000 dollars, how utility mandates are halting construction, and actionable plans to build 5 million homes.
The Crypto Reality Check: Calling out the Trump and Melania meme coins as garbage, while explaining how genuine blockchain technology and stablecoins protect everyday retail wealth and the US dollar.

Whether you agree with his politics or not, this conversation provides a raw look at resilience, accountability, and the struggle of working families.
