Manny Lopez talks about quitting drugs and the gang life to become a better father and find sobriety

View descriptionShare

Manny Lopez (Papilion Integrated Recovery Center) joins Casey Scott and Dr. Matt Woolley to talk about his early childhood where he was in and out of foster homes, abusing and dealing meth at fourteen years old,  and being convicted as an adult at seventeen years after shooting a man when a drug deal went wrong.

Manny also talks about how his drug use escalated during his six years in prison, struggling to adapt to the world following his release, and going in and out of prison for the next decade.

Then we dive into Manny's experience with getting out of gang life and finding the fortitude to choose recovery with the help of his young daughter.
