After 31 years presenting the ABC finance report and half a century in journalism, finance legend Alan Kohler recently made the massive announcement that he is stepping away from the nightly news desk. But don't call it retirement...he’s just changing gears on his own terms.

In this episode, I sit down with Alan to talk about what "stepping into your prime time" actually looks like when you've spent decades working at a breakneck pace. We discuss his move into podcasting with his son Chris, how he handles shifting identity as he turns 75, and why he’s choosing to keep doing what he loves rather than taking up golf.

Then, we dive into the big economic challenges on the horizon for Australia.
