What happens when the rising waters of life—whether a devastating health diagnosis, financial ruin, or the slow erosion of your reputation—leave you feeling completely trapped and sinking into the mire?

Join Jaime on the Praying Christian Women Podcast for a deeply comforting and raw devotional on Psalm 69, a powerful chapter that meets us in our lowest moments of panic and anxiety, while pointing us toward the ultimate hope of our Redeemer.

Drawing from a vivid, real-life illustration of Alaska’s treacherous glacial mudflats and rapidly rushing bore tides, Jaime paints an unforgettable picture of what David meant when he cried out that the waters had risen to his neck with no foothold in sight. She explores how David’s desperate pleas give us permission to bring our own untidy, raw, and seemingly hopeless emotions directly to the throne of grace, reminding us that authenticity and trust go hand in hand when we are straining our eyes waiting for God to move.

Along the way, we see how David’s deep distress foreshadows the suffering of Jesus on the cross, and Jaime thoughtfully unpacks the challenging concept of "imprecatory prayers"—those jarring verses where David calls down God’s wrath upon his adversaries. Through the lens of New Testament grace, she offers wise, practical perspective on shifting our focus away from flesh-and-blood enemies to recognize the true spiritual battle against the principalities of darkness.

Come ready to lay down your deepest anxieties—the exhausting false accusations, the overwhelming debts, and the situations threatening to swallow you whole. Let this episode remind you that our Savior is bigger than the fiercest tides working against you. Because He is a God who hears the needy, who lifts our feet out of the suffocating silt to set us securely on high, and whose redeeming power can turn even the very seas that threatened to drown us into a chorus of praise for His glory.
