The Board of Peace is an international body launched by former U.S. President Donald Trump in January 2026 as part of his broader peace initiative connected to the Gaza conflict. It was designed to oversee postwar governance, reconstruction, and long-term stability in the Gaza Strip following years of war between Israel and Hamas. The initiative grew out of Trump’s 20-point Gaza peace plan, which aimed to end the war, demilitarize Hamas, and establish a framework for governance, reconstruction, and economic recovery in the region. The Board is intended to operate under a UN Security Council resolution, which authorizes it to play a transitional governance role in Gaza, with Trump serving as chairman.
