Public universities across South Africa have announced a significant change to the admissions timeline for first-time entering students, with application outcomes now only expected after the official release of the 2025 National Senior Certificate results next week. Universities South Africa, or USAf, confirmed the change on Saturday, describing it as the first time in many years that universities will not issue admission outcomes on the same day learners receive their matric results.
