Naas Botha is a former South African fly half who was one of the game’s greats. Throughout the 1980s, he was a formidable force and he was voted as the Rugby Player of the Year in 1979, 1981, 1985 and 1987. Naas Botha was inducted into the Rugby Pass Hall of Fame in 2021. As a child, Naas Botha played several sports at a high level and he had dreams of becoming a professional baseball player. However, rugby was the sport where he truly excelled and he was selected to represent South Arica at U20 level.
