South Africa’s aviation system, particularly its airports and air traffic management, has been under severe strain for more than a year, with experts warning that the situation could worsen unless deep structural and leadership reforms are implemented. Flights across the country have faced ongoing delays, cancellations, diversions, and scheduling chaos, especially at major hubs such as O.R. Tambo International Airport, King Shaka International, and regional airports like Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport. These disruptions are part of a broader pattern of systemic failure within the Air Traffic and Navigation Services (ATNS).  Mbuyiseni Ndlozi is in conversation with ATNS Head of Corporate Communication, Mphilo Dlamini and Aviation Analyst, Phuthego Mojapele.
