South Africa has welcomed the recent approval by the U.S. House of Representatives to renew the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) for three more years. AGOA is a preferential trade programme that provides eligible sub-Saharan African countries with duty-free access to the U.S. market for a wide range of products, including manufactured goods, textiles, agricultural produce, and automotive parts.
