The South African Presidency has officially confirmed that France has withdrawn its invitation for South Africa to participate in the upcoming Group of Seven (G7) summit scheduled for June. This sudden change in 16 diplomatic plans reportedly stems from significant pressure exerted by the United States. Allegations suggest that U.S. officials threatened to boycott the gathering of the world’s most influential economies should South Africa be included as a special guest.
