The South African Communist Party (SACP), founded in 1921 as the Communist Party of South Africa, stands as one of the oldest and most enduring revolutionary movements on the continent. Emerging from the global wave of socialist thought and later reshaped by anti-colonial imperatives, the party evolved from a small group of white Marxists into a mass-based, non-racial vanguard of working-class struggle.
