According to Section 26 of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa (South Africa 1996), the state is required to provide adequate housing for everyone. As part of the Constitution, the state must take reasonable legislative and other measures to achieve the progressive realization of this right to housing. Nhlanhla Sehume speaks to the CEO of the Qhama Social Housing Institution, Tabisa Nodada and the CEO of the Govan Mbeki Housing Company, Busi Mazibuko about how the state rethinks its delivery framework to achieve its housing goals and the importance of social housing.
