Desiree Markgraaff is amongst the highly esteemed showrunners and producers on the list in South Africa. You may not be well-acquainted with her, but her work including on Yizo Yizo, Zone 14, Isibaya, Ayeye and more recently Shaka iLembe are not hard to come by. Over and above her achievements in the film industry, Desiree is known for her vocation in nurturing young local and promising talent in the country. She is the partner and CEO of The Bomb Shelter Film Company, a fellow of the Africa Leadership Initiative in South Africa as well as a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
