President Cyril Ramaphosa has officially appointed Advocate Andy Mothibi as the new National Director of Public Prosecutions (NDPP), succeeding Advocate Shamila Batohi, who retired in January 2026 after serving in the position since 2018. Batohi’s tenure was marked by a determined effort to restore the credibility and independence of the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA).  Mbuyiseni Ndlozi is in conversation with CSAC Executive Director, Lawson Naidoo.
