In 2013, Cabinet adopted the White Paper for Post School Education and Training (WP-PSET) which sets the vision for the PSET sector. Following the adoption of the White Paper, the Department of Higher Education and Training developed the National Plan for Post School Education and Training (hereafter ‘the Plan’). The development of the Plan was an iterative process culminating to its finalization and approval by the Honourable Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Dr Blade Nzimande in 2021. The Plan is an overarching roadmap for the transformation, expansion, and improvement of post schooling human resource development in South Africa.
