The Mail and Guardian over the weekend ran an article citing that Treasurer General Paul Mashatile and Deputy President David Mabuza pocketed funds intended for the party coffers. According to the paper, two sources with knowledge about the matter allege that the two senior politicians received at least $2-million, equivalent to R30 miilion from party donors but the money failed to make it into the Luthuli House bank account. On Sunday, 09 May 2021, the ANC’s Department of Information and Publicity released a statement rejecting the allegations. In this segment, we are joined by Mail & Guardian journalist, Lizeka Tandwa.
