Lukhona Mnguni is in conversation with Frikkie De Bruin, General Secretary of the Public Service Coordinating Bargaining Council about the public wage offer. The government is offering an increase of 1.5% in pensionable salaries, as well as a monthly (non-pensionable) cash payment ranging from R1 200 to R1 600 from 1 April to 31 March next year. While the wage negotiations in the public sector have ended, trade unions have described it as an interim measure.
