This bring us to today’s innovation which involves what many can equate to an ATM machine designed to take beverage containers, specifically glass, plastic bottles and aluminium cans, like how you would insert your bank card but instead of withdrawing money, it sends you a text where you can redeem digital rewards that can be spent on groceries at various stores. It is called the Cash4Trash reverse vending machine (RVM) and the innovator behind it, Mary-Ann Mandishona joins Morio Sanyaneto tell us more about it.
