Lerato Mbele speaks to actress and activist, Hlubi Mboya in this week's edition of "In The spotlight".
Hlubi is a South African actress and AIDS ambassador best known for her role as Nandipha Sithole on the SABC3 soapie Isidingo. She made her film debut in 2006, in the South African short film Shogun Khumalo is Dying. She is also the director at Sunshine Cinema, a fund that uses mini solar-powered mobile projectors to bring the cinema experience to communities that lack easy access to conventional cinemas. Through screening dynamic educational, interactive content and media training workshops, we address social and environmental challenges through community partnerships. She is also a World Food Programme goodwill ambassador.
