Dr Jerry Mofokeng wa Makhetha is an esteemed South African actor who has left an indelible mark on both stage and screen. Renowned for his roles in acclaimed films like "Cry the Beloved Country" and "Tsotsi," Mofokeng's career has been a testament to his artistic prowess. A product of Orlando West High School and Youth Alive Ministries in Soweto during the 1970s, Mofokeng later pursued his passion for acting at Wits Drama School and Columbia University, earning a master's in Theatre Directing. At 56, Mofokeng embraced his biological heritage, adopting his father's surname, Makhetha, becoming Jerry Mofokeng wa Makhetha. In recognition of his significant contributions to the arts, Dr Jerry Mofokeng wa Makhetha received an honorary Doctor of Letters (DLitt) degree from the University of the Free State (UFS) in 2019. Adding literary flair to his achievements, in July, Dr. Mofokeng wa Makhetha launched his second book "Nna Ke Monna”. He joins us as our special guest in the spotlight.
