Celeste Ntuli is without a doubt amongst the funniest comedians in South Africa. Born and raised in Empangeni as the sixth of eight children, she has said that because she had so many siblings, she had to be louder and funnier than everyone else to get attention – a move which has proven fruitful in South Africa’s comedic landscape as well. Surprisingly, Celeste’s first stand-up gig was at a church in 2005, where she secured a professional gig at the Zulu Comedy Show. She is also known for being the first local female comic to record a one-woman show. In 2009, she joined season 2 of SABC 1’s “So You Think You’re Funny” competition. And last year, Celeste took her career international with a sold-out show at the Leicester Square Theatre in London. Since mastering her craft in comedy, she has also acted in soapies including Isibiya and the popular 2018 film “Looking for Love”. She joins Lerato Mbele in the spotlight.
