On Thursday a group of healthcare stakeholders, who call themselves #HandsOfLCBO marched to the offices of Council of Medical Schemes (CMS) in Centurion to deliver a memorandum opposing Circular 80 that scraps the medical insurances and the Low Cost Benefit Option. They say such a move will directly impact on the poor accessing healthcare, especially with a country that has a poor public healthcare sector and an expensive private healthcare. Morio Sanyane speaks to CMS’s Dr Donald Gumede and healthcare stakeholders spokesperson Kerry Hertog.
