The Department of Public Works & Infrastructure is celebrating 20 years of the existence of the Expanded Public Works Programme this year. The EPWP is a national, government-driven initiative which was launched in 2004 to promote the creation of work opportunities that contribute towards the reduction of unemployment and alleviation of poverty in the country. The programme is implemented within four sectors, namely: Infrastructure, Non-State, Social and Environment & Culture.
