The party is grounded by Biblical Principles under the leadership of Reverend Kenneth Meshoe. Following the 2016 municipal elections, the ACDP entered into coalition partnerships with the Democratic Alliance (DA) and several smaller parties, consolidating governance in Nelson Mandela Bay, Johannesburg, and Tshwane. As of 2019, the ACDP is represented by four members in the South African Parliament and has one member in each of the provincial legislatures of Western Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, and Gauteng. The party's municipal presence extends to 22 councillors across the country. Its overarching objective is the application of Biblical principles with the aim of building a better South Africa.
