In her teens, Yasmin London—then Yasmin Dunn—was a champion Australian backstroker. In her twenties and thirties, she was a tireless cop who regularly talked people down from the cliff at Sydney’s notorious The Gap.  And now, as a mother of two, Yasmin is one of Australia’s leading cyber safety experts.

If anyone has lived an authentic life, combining her twin loves of competition and the human experience, it’s Yasmin.

That’s why Tory Archbold wanted her as a guest on the Powerful Stories podcast. Few women have moved from the top echelons of sports to policing and now global entrepreneurship—Yasmin has not just great stories of travelling the world as an athlete but powerful insights about resilience … and a love story founded below a slow spinning mirror ball!

Yasmin’s public story is a tiny part of her life. She’s the swimmer who followed the black line for more than 24,500kms until her Olympic dream was crushed when she slipped off the trial blocks. She found a new passion as a policewoman but was “a square peg in a round hole from the beginning,” she says.

And, just quietly, gained her a global audience: video of her doing her signature samurai dance move at a Sydney event has been seen by over 6.6 million people on Facebook (she tells the story on the podcast—fantastic.)
