Why I Stop, Revive and Thrive

I learnt the hard way that unless you take time out from life it can be taken away from you in a heart beat.  In 2013 at the top of my PR game and 72 hours before I was due on a flight to London to see our agency partners and host a series of media events my life literally stopped.  My appendix burst and I was rushed via ambulance into an operating theatre at 2am in the morning and faced the very sobering reality that I may not make it out of the theatre alive because I was slowly dying from blood poisoning.  Who was my next of kin? Did I have a will? Who would look after my daughter? The 3 questions I was asked by the surgeon before I was knocked out cold.

This experience changed my mindset and life for the better. I realised that unless I put my myself first, I would never be able to take that next powerful step forward.

How did I become the women who wakes up in alignment each day with a happy heart surrounded by an amazing husband, teenage children and community?  I reversed my mindset to take time out when my career level’s up and am celebrating the wins. Let’s face the facts – most people do this when they are exhausted, I flipped this way of thinking when I had my near death experience as understand that my health is my wealth and if I don’t stop and revive I will not survive.
