Women are often expected to be nurturing mothers, supportive partners, dependable daughters, successful professionals and caregivers who always seem to have everything under control. Somewhere between meeting everyone else’s needs and fulfilling the roles society expects of them, many women begin to lose touch with their own identities, dreams and desires. They become so accustomed to showing up for everyone else that they forget what it means to show up for themselves. But what happens when a woman no longer recognises the person she has become? We explore the emotional cost of constantly putting others first, the guilt that comes with choosing yourself, and the journey of rediscovering who you are beyond the roles you play.
