There are people who seem to carry a burden that nobody else can see. They go through rejection, heartbreak, family conflict, loneliness and hardships that make them question, “Why me? Why is my life so difficult?” There is a belief that those who are spiritually gifted, those who are called to heal, guide and help others, often have to walk through their own storms first. Because how do you help someone navigate pain when you have never experienced it yourself? How do you heal others if you have never confronted your own wounds? Could the hardships, the rejection and the difficult seasons be preparing spiritually gifted people for a greater purpose? Or are we romanticizing suffering and expecting gifted people to endure pain simply because of their calling. And to help us unpack this deeply spiritual conversation, Kefentse Mkhari is in conversation with Spiritual life coach, Column Writer, Mbhalezi ‘Gogo Mahlebezulu’ Mboweni
